Sergei Wiktorowitsch Piskunow ( Russian Сергей Викторович Пискунов ; born March 11, 1981 in Magnitogorsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Kuban Krasnodar in the Vysschaja Hockey League since August 2012 .

Career

Sergei Piskunow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , for whose second team he was active in the third-rate Pervaya League from 1998 to 2000 . For the professional team Metallurgs the winger played from 2000 to 2005 in the super league . In his rookie year in the 2000/01 season , he and his team were instant Russian champions . Three years later he failed with Metallurg only in the playoff final at HK Awangard Omsk . During his time at Metallurg, he also played six games for their league rivals HK CSKA Moscow in the 2002/03 season.

From 2005 to 2010 Piskunow was under contract with Severstal Tscherepowez , initially in the Super League and from the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . For the 2010/11 season , the right-handed shooter was initially committed by Amur Khabarovsk . After just eight games, however, he moved within the KHL to HK tractor Chelyabinsk , where he ended the season. For the 2011/12 season he joined the HK Donbass Donetsk from the Vysschaya Hockey League .
