Sergej Mikajeljan ( Armenian Սերգեյ Միքայելյան ; born April 27, 1992 in Gorno-Altaisk ) is an Armenian cross-country skier .

Career

Mikajeljan has been taking part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2009 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , he finished 105th in the sprint. He reached 70th place over 15 km freestyle at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 he came 91st place in the sprint and 56th place over 15 km classic. He ran his first World Cup race in December 2012 at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo . His best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme was 55th place over 15 km freestyle. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he reached 46th place over 15 km classic and 45th place in 30 km skiathlon . He got his first World Cup points in January 2015 in Rybinsk with the 20th place over 15 km freestyle. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , he finished 67th in the 15 km freestyle, 60th in sprint and 45th in skiathlon. After finishing 51st in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer at the start of the 2016/17 season, he won the bronze medal in the pursuit at the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , he came 52nd place over 15 km classic, 41st place in the 50 km mass start race and 29th place in the skiathlon.
