Sergio-Maurice Vaglio (born October 24, 1971 in Thun ) is a Swiss actor and singer.

Life

Born in Thun, Vaglio trained in singing and acting at the Bern Conservatory . In 1995/96 he played Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Städtische Bühnen Augsburg . This was followed by engagements as Enjolras in Les Misérables in the Musical Theater Duisburg, as Prince Archbishop Colloredo in the world premiere of Mozart! and as Spider Jekyll & Hyde in the Theater an der Wien . In 2002/03 he played the role of Colonel Krabbe in the world premiere of Deep at the Maag Music Hall in Zurich.

In the 2003/04 season he played the role of Harry in Stephen Sondheim's Musical Company at the Vienna Chamber Opera and Ché in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita . In 2005 he made his debut at the Thunerseespiele as boss in the ring in Miss Saigon . He also played Luigi Lucheni in the Swiss premiere of Elisabeth at the Thunerseespiele in 2006 and Jean Valjean in Les Misérables in 2007 .

In 2010 he created and shaped the role of alcohol in the world premiere of the musical Dällebach Kari . This was followed by an engagement as an alternating Dänu, Ferdinand and Mr. Lieberherr in Ewigi Liebi in Bern and Zurich, before he was on stage again in Bern in 2012 as an alcohol in Dällebach Kari .

Vaglio left at the Actors' Temple in London in the acting technique of Sanford Meisner educate and played in the summer of 2014 the allotment President Giovanni Topo in the premiere of Paradise (stage version released by Mano Khalil's documentary film Our Garden of Eden ) in the theater belts in Bern. He was also seen as Paul Sheldon in Misery at the Burgdorfer Krimitagen and as Alain Keller in Remake at the Bern Cinématte. From summer 2015 he will play the pastor Josef Ruden in the world premiere of The Matterhorn Story (Freilichtspiele Zermatt).

Since 2004 Vaglio has also appeared as a pop musician (under the name Maurice Merlo or Maurice). His single strengneklar made it into the official Swiss singles hit parade, the video clip reached 2nd place in the VIVA airplay charts. In 2010 his album The Cologne Trilogy was released . He is currently working on his new album, which is expected to be released in spring 2016.

After a long radio silence, the first single, Inner Child , of the three-part Stripped EP was released in early 2019 under the name Sophos . The sound is very different from the previous musical works. Instead of pop, trip-hop is now in the foreground, which is underlined with melancholy 80s wave sounds. Subsequently, the second single, Frown , was released in mid-2019.
