Sergio Bizzio

Sergio Bizzio (born December 3, 1956 in Villa Ramallo ) is an Argentine writer , screenwriter and film director .

life and work

After studying art and architecture , Bizzio first worked as a film director and screenwriter before turning to writing in the 1980s. Since then he has published thirteen novels as well as several short stories , poems, and plays . He is considered one of the best contemporary authors in Argentina, but it was only with his novel Rabia , which was published in 2004 under the German title Stille Wut , that he gained international fame. Stille Wut is his first book so far that was published in German. This novel has won several awards and was filmed in 2009 by the Ecuadorian director Sebastián Cordero . The film was produced by Guillermo del Toro , won the jury award at the Tokyo International Film Festival and was released in Germany under the title Rabia - Stille Wut . Bizzio's short story Cinismo was the literary model for the Argentine drama XXY .

Sergio Bizzio now lives in Buenos Aires .
