Serkan Çiftçi (born August 3, 1989 in Vienna ) is an Austrian - Turkish soccer player who has been under contract with SK Rapid Wien II since 2015 .
Career
After various youth teams in Vienna, he joined the SK Rapid Vienna amateur team in 2007 . After he could not really gain a foothold there, he moved to Giresunspor in Turkey in 2009 . Here, however, he played an even smaller role, so that he returned to the Rapid Amateurs after a short time. Now he made his breakthrough there and in the 2010/11 season he was second on the list of goalscorers of the Regionalliga Ost with 21 goals. Through these achievements, the attacker attracted the interest of various Bundesliga clubs and SC Wiener Neustadt signed him for the following season. Here he made his debut on July 16, 2011 (1st matchday) against SV Mattersburg in the Bundesliga, when he came on in the away game in the 66th minute for Daniel Wolf . In the summer of 2012 he moved to league competitor SK Sturm Graz . In Graz , however, he could not prevail in the attack and left the club at the end of the 2012/13 season with other strikers such as Rubin Okotie or Richard Sukuta-Pasu . Until then, he had only made seven short appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring one goal and preparing another for his teammates. Furthermore, Çiftçi, who was out for a few weeks due to a meniscus injury, was also active in the amateur team with play in the third division, where he scored seven goals in eleven games and contributed two assists and thus acted very aggressively. Subsequently, he came to the elevator club Dardanelspor in the third highest Turkish league , but where he was released early after 14 league games and two goals in February 2014 and was henceforth without a club for a few months. In the summer of 2014 he found a new employer in the Romanian first division club Oțelul Galați . In the first seven rounds, the Austrian-Turkish compatriot came to short appearances and after a red card suspension in the last of the seven games was no longer in the official squad, which started 17th in the final ranking for the League II , where the team again after only one relegated to Liga III in one season. In the summer of 2015 he returned to the SK Rapid Wien amateur team for the third time, although he only rarely acted as a regular and was mostly not part of the official squad. To date (as of June 8, 2016), Çiftçi has made eight regional league games and one goal.
