Shōichirō Toyoda AC , KBE ( Japanese 豊 田 章 一 郞 , Toyoda Shōichirō ; born February 27, 1925 in Aichi Prefecture ) is a Japanese manager who served as chairman ( daihyō-torishimariyaku -kaichō ) of Toyota from 1992 to 1999 and from 1994 until 1998 acted as chairman of the Nippon Keidanren trade association . He is a son of the company's founder, Toyoda Kiichirō .

In October 2000, he was appointed to the board of directors of KDDI , Toyota Industries holds 11.7% of KDDI (as of 2007).

He graduated from Nagoya University . He has a doctorate in mechanical engineering , and in 1952 he received his doctorate in fuel injection . The current CEO of Toyota, Akio Toyoda is its oldest son.

From 1976 to 1979 he was chairman of the jidōsha-gijutsu-kai ( 自動 車 技術 会 , "Council for Automotive Technology "; English Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan ).
