Shamsul Maidin

Shamsul Maidin (* 16th April 1966 ) is a former FIFA - football - referee from Singapore . He has already won several awards as the best referee in the Singaporean league. His participation in the 2006 World Cup was his first. However, Maidin was already active as a referee at the Confederations Cup in Germany in 2005 - and in 2006 at the African Cup of Nations . After George Suppiah (1974 World Cup), he is the second referee from Singapore to act as a referee at a World Cup.

At the 2006 Soccer World Cup, he was in charge of the games Trinidad and Tobago - Sweden (0-0), Mexico - Angola (0-0) and Costa Rica - Poland (1: 2).
