The Shannon Creek is a short tributary of the Baker River in Whatcom County in the State of Washington , near the southwestern border of North Cascades National Park . It rises in two headwaters a few miles south of Mount Shuksan ; the glacier-fed North Fork starts at an altitude of 1,529 meters, the non-glacial South Fork at 796 meters. About halfway through the course, both source rivers unite and then flow into Baker Lake at a height of 221 meters . Shannon Creek joins the Baker River a few miles below Sulphide Creek and above Swift Creek , a much larger south-flowing creek.
