After a season there he moved to the Western Hockey League to the Everett Silvertips and spent the following three years there before he was signed for the 2006/07 season by the Vancouver Canucks from the National Hockey League (NHL). In the organization of the Canucks , however, the Canadian was used exclusively for the Manitoba Moose farm team in the American Hockey League (AHL), where he spent three full seasons.
In the summer of 2009 he was transferred to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for a draft pick at the 2009 NHL Draft . But even there, Heshka was mainly used in the AHL at the San Antonio Rampage in the 2009/2010 season , but was at least able to complete his first and only eight games in the NHL for the Coyotes . For the 2010/11 season , the defender decided to move to Europe and signed a contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg from the Austrian ice hockey league . After Heshka won the Austrian Championship with Salzburg , he returned to North America in the AHL in the summer of 2011 and joined the Binghamton Senators before he was given up to the Peoria Rivermen within the league during the current 2011/12 season .
A year later he moved to Europe again, in the 2012/13 season the right-handed shooter ran for Porin Ässät in the Finnish SM-Liiga and celebrated winning the championship and the individual award of the Pekka-Rautakallio trophy as the best defender of the elapsed playing time. In June 2013, the defensive player was signed by Ak Bars Kazan from the Continental Hockey League , for which the entire 2013/14 season was on the ice. Shortly after the start of the 2014/15 season , he moved to league rival Admiral Vladivostok .
