Shawn Carter (born April 16, 1973 in Eagle River , Wisconsin ) is a former American ice hockey player who played in the German Ice Hockey League for the Augsburg Panthers , the Adler Mannheim and the Nürnberg Ice Tigers .

Career

After his junior years at the University of Wisconsin , Shawn Carter played in the North American minor leagues IHL and AHL with the St. John's Maple Leafs , the Orlando Solar Bears and the Houston Eros from 1996 to 2002 .

For the 2002/03 season the center moved to the German Ice Hockey League for the Augsburg Panthers . For three years the left-handed shooter was always among the top scorers of the Panthers with around 40 points , but was surpassed by at least one player in each season. The Canadian spent the 2005/06 season at Adler Mannheim , but only managed to score 21 points there and failed to meet expectations, whereupon the Adler parted from Carter after the season.

For the 2006/07 season , the attacker signed a contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers in the DEL , which extended the contract with the American in January 2007 for a further two years until 2009. After the 2008-09 season , Carter retired and moved to Houston with his wife Kim .
