Shelagh Donohoe

Shelagh Donohoe (born January 22, 1965 in Lowell , Massachusetts ) is a former American rower .

Donohoe rowed for the University of Massachusetts Lowell team . From 1989 to 1992 she was part of the American national rowing team. In 1989 she reached an international final at the World Championships for the first time when she finished sixth with eighth place. The following year, the US eight finished second behind the Romanians at the 1990 World Championships in Tasmania. Shelagh Donohoe, Cynthia Eckert , Stephanie Maxwell-Pierson and Anna Seaton from the US eighth in 1990 competed in a foursome without a helmsman at the 1991 World Championships in Viennaand won the silver medal behind the Canadians and in front of the German boat. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , Donohoe and Eckert competed with Amy Fuller and Carol Feeney and, as at the 1991 World Championships, won silver behind the Canadians and ahead of the Germans.

After the end of her active athletic career, Donohoe was first assistant coach in Boston and at Harvard and later a coach at Northwestern University and the University of Rhode Island .
