Shelly Gotlieb (born July 28, 1980 in Raetihi ) is a former New Zealand snowboarder . She started in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Gotlieb took part in competitions on the World Snowboard Tour and the FIS from 2007 to 2014 . In August 2008 she got her first podium finish in the Big Air competition at the Billabong SnowStock in the Snow Park with third place. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season she was third in slopestyle at the Burton New Zealand Open in Cardrona and in big air at Billabong BroDown in Snow Park . In March 2010, she finished second in slopestyle at the Burton US Open at Stratton Mountain . After finishing second in slopestyle at the beginning of the 2010/11 season at the Burton New Zealand Open in Cardrona , she won the bronze medal in slopestyle at the 2011 Snowboard World Championships in La Molina in January 2011 . In the same month, she came ninth in slopestyle at the Winter X Games in Aspen . In the 2011/12 season she was third in Big Air at the New Zealand Winter Games in Cardrona and fifth in Slopestyle at the 2012 Snowboard World Championships in Oslo . In February 2012 she completed her first World Cup in Stoneham and finished fifth in the slopestyle. This was also her best placement in the World Cup. At the beginning of the following season she came in second place in slopestyle at Billabong Bro Down in Snow Park . In January 2013, she was seventh in slopestyle at the Snowboard World Championships in Stoneham . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she came in 15th place in slopestyle.
