Shikoku Kasei Kōgyō KK ( Japanese 四 国 化成 工業 株式会社 , ~ kabushiki-gaisha , German "Synthesis Company Shikoku", English Shikoku Chemicals Corporation ) is a Japanese chemical company on the island of Shikoku .

Shikoku Kasei was founded in 1947 as a manufacturer of carbon disulfide . In 1957 the production of sodium sulfate began and in 1961 that of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). Imidazole and insoluble sulfur (polymer sulfur ) have also been produced since 1975 and 1984, respectively .
