Shin Jong-hun (born May 5, 1989 ) is a South Korean light flyweight boxer .
Career
Shin won the bronze medal at the 2009 World Boxing Championships when he first took part in an international competition , beating Cuban champion Daniel Matellon Ramos in the quarterfinals . At the 2010 Asian Games, Shin did not get beyond the quarterfinals, which he lost to Birschan Schaqypow , Kazakhstan (17: 3).
In 2011 Shin became Asian champion with a final victory over the Indian Amandeep Singh and only had to admit defeat to the Chinese Zou Shiming in the final of the World Championships . With this success he qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games . Here he was eliminated in the first fight against Alexandar Alexandrow , Bulgaria (15:14).
At the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon , Shin won the gold medal with a final victory over Shagypov (3-0).
