Simon Shlomo Kahn (* 1983 in Kent ) is a British human beatboxer , known as SK Shlomo, formerly Shlomo, who has lived in London's Southbank Center since 2007 . He is also the 2011 World Loopstation Champion.

Shlomo, who is descended from Israeli , Iraqi and German ancestors, grew up in Bourne End , Buckinghamshire . He is fluent in Arabic , Hebrew and Aramaic . According to his own account, he grew up in a very musical family, so that as a child he was always surrounded by music. His father, Jeremy Kahn, who is now Shlomo's manager, is himself a jazz musician and Shlomo has been playing drums in his jazz quartet since he was fourteen. He also played for a local orchestra.

In addition to his beatboxing skills, Shlomo is also a classically trained drummer, and before his solo activity he was part of the Foreign Beggars and the beatbox group Drool Skool . In addition to solo appearances, he works with his own group, The Vocal Orchestra , which he founded in 2007 in just six weeks. Shlomo's other projects include the seven-person Lip Factory (since 2011) and the Beatbox Academy . The Beatbox Academy, a program that aims to give young people the opportunity to take regular beatboxing lessons, was founded by Shlomo in collaboration with London's Battersea Arts Center (BAC). Since 2008 regular workshops and classes have been created in which teenagers can improve their beatboxing techniques both solo and as a group.
