Shogoon (bourgeois Fabian Boenig ; * 1992 in Minden ) is a German hip-hop musician, producer and singer. The style of West Coast hip-hop and G-funk is attributed to him.

Life

Shogoon was born in Minden in 1992. At the age of six, he began to practice ju-jutsu at the local sports club. Since the word " Shogun " was sewn on his Keikogi and his trainer could not remember his name, the latter initially called him "Shogun" which Boenig later changed to "Shogoon".

When his parents separated after he was ten, Shogoon moved into a one-room apartment with his mother. There he attended the municipal high school . Shogoon has lived in Berlin since 2018 .

Musical career

Although Shogoon has been a fan of German and American rap music since 2002, he only wrote his first text on his last day of school in 2012. The first time he raped in a club in Minden at an open mic freestyle session. After spending "every possible evening" there, Shogoon published his first songs on Facebook in October 2013 . After Shogoon published his first mixtape called Harakiri in 2014 , his first EP called Skoolyard followed in 2016 , which he withdrew from the market after a short time due to unclear samples .

Gradually Shogoon taught himself to produce music, as well as mixing and mastering himself. So he produced his first EP in G-Funk style called Act 1: 32425 , which he dedicated to his hometown. The EP was released on August 2, 2019 and heard and distributed by one of his musical role models, Curse , among others . Since 2019 he has been under contract with the music label Urban Tree Music.

From December 2019 to February 2020 he was on tour with Mono and Nikitaman in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
