action

Jez and Dylan are best friends and have a dream together: Both are orphans and spent their childhood in homes. Her dream is to one day be the proud owner of a stately home. In order to be able to realize this dream, they do not shy away from fraud: they sell useless things to unsuspecting people, e.g. B. turn a high-tech device on to an entrepreneur, but in reality it is not a high-tech device at all.

Here they get to know the attractive Georgie. They trick her into thinking that they are collecting the money from this fraud for an orphanage. Everything is going well, but one day the police find out about them. In prison, Jez and Dylan learn to their horror that the British government wants to have new pound notes printed because the Queen no longer likes her picture on a pound note. This would have made their stolen prey worthless. To prevent this from happening, they ask Georgie to exchange the money for her. But in a sentimental moment, Jez, in love with Georgie, tells the whole truth. Georgie withdraws, disappointed. When she learns that the home in which her brother, who has trisomy 21 ( Down's syndrome ) lives, is about to be closed, she decides to steal the money from Jez and Dylan in order to save the home.

She pretends to Jez and Dylan that she has forgiven them and now wants to help them. The three stage the funeral of a fictional mutual friend. At this funeral, a coffin is burned, in which allegedly the body of the friend lies, but in reality, Jez and Dylan believe, the money lies in it and are therefore shocked when the coffin is burned. But the clever Georgie has long since brought the suitcase with the money to safety, but her ex-fiancé takes the money. Back at large, Jez and Dylan are understandably very depressed. But then they meet Georgie again.

After a discussion, the three of them decide to stick together from now on. They cheat at the horse race to get the money back and save Georgie's brother's home, which is about to be closed. And Georgie turns out to be Lady Georgina. In the end, Jez and Georgie confess their love and Dylan also finds happiness with Georgie's sister. After all, they celebrate a double wedding and live together in a stately home, the ancestral home of Georgie's family.

criticism

“A romantic comedy with a fairytale touch, captivating with its lightness. As a cinematic counterpart to the Easy Listening "wave of music, fresh and fresh, but without any reference to the real world."
