Shriman Satyawadi is a Hindi film from 1960. Raj Kapoor can be seen in the social drama as an honest man who can feel all too well how difficult it is to assert oneself in a mendacious world.
action
Little Vijaykumar lives in poor conditions with his sick and widowed father Mohanlal. As an honest shopkeeper, he earns the change needed to support himself and his son. This does not suit the neighbor and competitor Lalachand at all. One day he hides cocaine in Mohanlal's shop and alerts the police. After the police find what they are looking for, they want to take Mohanlal, who is always honest, away. But the sick man cannot cope with this and dies of heart failure.
Sad about the death of his father, Vijay never forgot his father's words and grew up to be an honest man with his father's doctor. After graduating from college, he finds a job in the advertising department of the wealthy Champalal and his daughter Geeta, who is in charge of that department. He also meets Kishore, Lalachand's son, who already hated Vijay while they were at school.
While Vijay and Kishore fight for Geeta's heart, Lalachand wants to grow his fortune. He makes the ignorant Champalal his investor and manufactures untested skin creams and fake painkillers.
In order to impress Geeta with quick success, Kishore wants to market the skin cream without waiting for the reviews. However, the first customers come with their complaints. The editor of a local newspaper, Moni Chatterjee, is also present and interviewing Vijay. This confirms that the skin cream was launched on the market before waiting for the test report.
After the article appeared in the newspaper, and because it was bad publicity for Champalal's company, Vijay was confronted by him. Since Vijay is accused of telling the truth, Vijay quits his job as it would otherwise violate his principles. Much to the annoyance of Geeta, who has already fallen in love with the honest man.
Vijay quickly found a job at Moni Chatterjee, who was impressed by his honesty. Because of his honest reports, Vijay becomes very popular that one day a helpless blind man turns to him. He claims his child died from a pain pill. Vijay is getting to the bottom of it. His trail ultimately leads him to Lalachand, who threatens death if an article ever appears about the poisonous painkillers. But Vijay is not afraid of the truth and gets into some turmoil. Eventually the truth wins and Lalachand is led away, while Champalal apologizes to Vijay. Vijay's love for Geeta also has a happy ending.
