Si Mohamed Ketbi (born December 27, 1997 ) is a Belgian Taekwondo athlete.

successes

Ketbi trains with the Brussels Taekwondo Team under Karim Dighou , together with Jaouad Achab and Mourad Laachraoui . He has been competing in international tournaments since 2014, of which he has won several:

  • Belgian Open (2014)
  • Swiss Open (2014, 2015)
  • Ukraine Open (2014)
  • Bosnia Open (2015)

At the 2015 World Championships, he was only defeated by Iranian Farzan Ashourzadeh Fallah in the final of the class up to 58 kg and won the silver medal. In Bucharest in 2015 he became European junior champion in the class up to 63 kg.

With 206.97 points he was ranked 5th in the world in his weight class (up to 58 kg) in April 2016.

At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Ketbi failed in the round of 16 against the Australian Safwan Khalil .
