Sibylle Engel

Eva Sibylle Engel b. Busch (born May 6, 1920 in Hamburg ; † October 20, 2011 ) was a Hessian politician ( FDP ) and Vice President of the Hessian State Parliament as well as a member of the Bundestag .

education and profession

Sibylle Engel studied literature, art, music and sociology after graduating from secondary school in 1938 and received her doctorate in 1944 from the University of Prague . Until 1949 she held a teaching position at the University of Hamburg . She then worked as a freelancer for various press and radio companies.

Sibylle Engel was married and had three children.

politics

Sibylle Engel joined the FDP in 1969 and was elected to the state parliament on December 1, 1970. She held the mandate until November 30, 1978 and again from December 15, 1978 to June 26, 1981. From December 3, 1974 to June 28, 1976 and from January 31, 1979 to her resignation on June 26, 1981, she was Vice President of the State Parliament.

In 1979 she was a member of the Federal Assembly .

From June 26, 1981 to March 9, 1983 she was a member of the German Bundestag.
