Sibylle Pasche

Sibylle Pasche (born August 24, 1976 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss artist and sculptor . She lives and works in Meilen / Zurich, in Italy and the USA. After completing the Liceo Artistico in Zurich , she studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara from 1996 to 2000 and graduated with a diploma thesis Women - Sculptors, Sculptor in Art History . From 1999 to 2002 she taught at the Liceo Artistico in Zurich.

Sibylle Pasche is known for her large-format stone sculptures in the outdoor space. She mainly works with stone ( Carrara marble , travertine , Belgian marble) and draws inspiration from her observation of nature and its processes of change for a very personal, diverse, organic world of shapes. Well-known natural structures appear again and again, which are perfected and further developed in relation to their own rules of rhythm and proportion. Pasches heavy objects are reminiscent of stranded boulders, which, through their durability and immortality, set an example against the fast pace of today's world. Aesthetics take precedence over provocation. With today's rather untypical choice of materials and the innovative handling of tradition, she works against the spirit of the times.

Pasche has been working on the inner workings through extremely filigree network structures, openings and depressions since the beginning and finds its most pronounced form in the 2010/11 art-in-building project Traces of Time - Traces of Time .

Pasche's three-dimensional work is complemented by numerous drawings and pictures, whereby the language of forms worked out in stone is expanded to include a poetically playful dimension. In 2008/09 the Cells & Stars cycle was created in New York and the Engadin Stars & Snow cycle in 2010 .
