The Sickle Moon ( sickle English for "sickle", moon English for "moon"; also Bharanzar ) is the highest mountain in the Kishtwar Himalayas , a mountain region in the western Himalayas between the Indian Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh .

The 6574  m high glaciated mountain is located in the Kishtwar National Park on the border of the two districts of Kargil and Kishtwar . The Sickle Moon is located in the catchment area of the right-hand Chanab tributary, the Marau . The district capital Kishtwar is 46 km southwest of Sickle Moon.

The dominance reference point of the Sickle Moon is the Nun (7135 m), 43 km further north .

Sickle Moon was first climbed on September 5, 1975 by Havildar Major Tsering Norbu and Naik Nim Dorje, members of an Indian high mountain unit.
