Side by Side is a documentary by Christopher Kenneally with many well-known filmmakers about the digital development in the film business. It was produced by Keanu Reeves and Justin Szlasa . The documentary premiered at the 62nd International Film Festival in Berlin in 2012.

Summary

The documentary deals with the question of the changes that digital technology has brought about in filmmaking. It shows what artists and filmmakers can achieve with the help of photographic film as well as digital film technology and in which new directions needs and innovations have changed and can change film design. Keanu Reeves interviewed directors, cameramen, colorists, scientists, engineers and artists about their experiences working with photographic and digital film.
