Sideritis hirsuta is a plant type from the genus sideritis ( Sideritis ) in the family of Labiatae (Lamiaceae).

Sideritis hirsuta is a perennial plant that grows up to 50 cm in height and has at least a few long, more or less straight, protruding trichomes on the stems . The leaves are 10 to 20 mm long and 4 to 10 mm wide. They are usually elongated, elongated, oval, green or gray-green in color and slit, serrated or slit-notched on the edge.
The inflorescences are false whorls, which are usually in groups of four to 15 at the end of the branches and usually consist of six flowers . The lower bracts are 6 to 15 mm long and 8 to 20 mm wide, ovate-heart-shaped and serrated with slits. They are about the same length or shorter than the chalice . This is 5 to 8 (rarely up to 9) mm long, usually not glandular and covered on the inside with a ring of trichomes. The crown is 8 to 10 mm long and has a white or pale yellow upper lip and a pale or bright yellow lower lip; only rarely are the flowers completely white.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 28, 28–30 or 34.
Occurrence and locations
The species occurs in southwest Europe and prefers dry, open locations. Their distribution area includes Portugal, Spain, France, northern Italy and northern Morocco.
