Sidney De Paris (* thirtieth May 1905 in Crawfordsville , Indiana ; † 13. September 1967 in New York City ) was an American jazz - trumpet , the traditional New Orleans Jazz and Swing played.

From 1926 to 1931 he played with the Paradise Ten of Charlie Johnson , then the McKinney's Cotton Pickers , and from 1932 to 1936 and 1939 with Don Redman ; he recorded in 1939 with Jelly Roll Morton , played 1939–1941 with Zutty Singleton , 1940/1941 with Benny Carter and 1941 with Art Hodes . In 1938 he took part in the Panassié Sessions in Paris with Sidney Bechet , Mezz Mezzrow and Tommy Ladnier , with whom he also recorded in 1940. In 1944 he also recorded as a leader for Blue Note and Commodore Records , and in 1951 for Blue Note. He is the brother of trombonist and composer Wilbur De Paris (1900–1973), with whose New New Orleans Jazz Band he performed continuously from 1947. In the 1960s he ended his career due to illness.
