Seven Mile Boots
In mythology, seven mile boots are boots with magical power that give the wearer the ability to cover long distances in a short time. The motif can be found in fairy tales , stories and poems . The loan translation Siebenmeilenstiefel comes from the fairy tale Der kleine Däumling by Charles Perrault (there “bottes de sept lieues”) and was naturalized in the German language by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , among others .
