The Augustinerwald settlement is a settlement on the western edge of Vienna . It belongs to the 14th district of Vienna , Penzing , and to the Hadersdorf cadastral community .

The settlement is located in the Vienna Woods , completely surrounded by forest, on the northern slope of the 465 meter high Rehgrabenberg, which lies on the city limits and slopes into the valley of the Mauerbach . The Hannbaumbach , which flows into the Mauerbach and borders the settlement in the northwest, also forms the Viennese city limit to Mauerbach . At its highest point, the settlement also borders the Purkersdorf area . The area can be reached from Mauerbachstraße ( Vorderhainbach ) via Hohe-Wand-Gasse . The settlement forms the westernmost part of Vienna north of the Wien River .

A building ban in accordance with Section 8 (1) of the Building Regulations for Vienna applies to the entire estate . The underlying paragraph specifies building blocks for areas that are not included in the city's development plan . This results in additional requirements for the construction of new buildings, but no general prohibition.
