history

Historically, canals that were used for drainage were built in pre-ancient times. 5,000 year old drainage canals have been found on the Euphrates .

Sewer construction is also known in Germany ( Cologne's old town ) from Roman times .

The oldest aqueducts from the time of Pharaoh Ramses II were discovered in Egypt (approx. 1300 BC) .

Historical dam structures are known from Egypt ( Sadd-el-Kafara in Wadi el Garawi, built between 2600 and 2500 BC) and Jordan ( drinking water reservoir from Jawa , probably 4th millennium BC).

On Samos there is the tunnel of Eupalinos from the 6th century BC. BC, which served for the water supply.
