Siegfried Dais

Siegfried Dais (born January 18, 1948 in Stuttgart ) is a physicist , an internationally known manager and partner in Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG (RBIK). He is married and has three sons.

Training and military service

Siegfried Dais passed the Abitur in 1966. This was followed by two years of military service in the Bundeswehr .

Education

From 1968 to 1974 Dais studied physics at the University of Stuttgart , graduating in 1974. In 1978 he obtained his doctorate in natural sciences at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart .

Dais then continued to work as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute.

In 1979 Dais began his career at the Stuttgart-based automotive supplier and electronics group Robert Bosch GmbH in the advance development of automotive equipment . In 1980 he became group leader Advance Engineering Automotive Equipment and held several positions within the company, including 1,986 head of department development of integrated circuits , business semiconductor and electronic control units . In 1990 he became head of advance development for automotive equipment , and in 1992 head of development for electronic communication technology . From 1997 onwards he was head of technology in the communications technology division .

In 1998 Siegfried Dais became Managing Director of Robert Bosch GmbH, responsible for the Bosch Rexroth , Car Multimedia , Automotive Electronics , Security Systems and Broadband Networks divisions as well as for the central areas of research / advance development , development coordination , automotive technology and information processing .

Siegfried Dais had been Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH since January 2004 . He was also responsible for the Bosch Rexroth division.

In addition, he was responsible for the central functions of coordinating product planning and technology in the automotive technology, industrial technology , consumer goods and building technology divisions, as well as for the central divisions of research and advance development and information processing.

With effect from January 1, 2007, the shareholders of Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG appointed Siegfried Dais as an additional limited partner . Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG (RBIK) exercises the entrepreneurial partner function at Robert Bosch GmbH and consists of a total of ten partners. The two personally liable partners ( general partners ) are Hermann Scholl and Tilman Todenhöfer . The limited partnership holds 93 percent of the voting rights and thus determines the strategic direction of the group.

In 2008, Siegfried Dais and the former Bosch researcher Uwe Kiencke received the Eduard Rhein Technology Prize "for the invention, international standardization and dissemination of the Controller Area Network communication system " (CAN bus).

At the end of 2012 he left the management of Robert Bosch GmbH , but remains a partner in Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG.
