Siegfried Fischer (painter)

Siegfried Karl Emil Fischer (born July 29, 1899 in Vienna ; † December 20, 1974 there ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Life

The artistic career began with the study of photography in the graphic teaching and research institute in Vienna and was successfully completed in 1920. Siegfried Fischer completed his painting training in courses as an extraordinary student with Carl Fahringer , as well as nude studies with Herbert Boeckl at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . In 1934 Siegfried Fischer was represented at the great Austrian state award exhibition in the Künstlerhaus Vienna , in 1935 at the spring exhibition of the Vienna Secession and in 1949 became a member of the Wiener Künstlerhaus and was involved in all the main exhibitions of the house, as well as the sponsored exhibitions in 1952. 1953 the exhibition of modern art in Salzburg and Vienna followed.

Siegfried Fischer took the decisive step in his artistic career when he became a full member of the Association of Visual Artists of the Vienna Secession on June 15, 1951 and took part in all exhibitions at home and abroad. He was represented at the major exhibition of the Vienna Secession from March 22 to April 4, 1955 in the Schiele Hall. On June 5, 1958, Siegfried Fischer exhibited three works as a member of the artists' association Der Kreis . This was followed in 1966 by the exhibition “20 years of the artist group Der Kreis” in the Vienna Künstlerhaus, where seven works were exhibited and he was also represented in the 1969 exhibition of the artist group “Der Kreis” with 25 oil paintings .

Works can be found in the Historical Museum of the City of Vienna and on residential buildings (glass mosaic “Korallenfische”, 13, Trazerberggasse, Schrutkagasse, 1957; glass mosaic “Abstract ornament”, 22, Aspern, Wimpffengasse 37–39, 1958/1959).
