Siegfried Herrmann (politician)

Siegfried Herrmann (born August 16, 1942 in Hartberg , Styria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Siegfried Herrmann learned the profession of blacksmith after attending compulsory schools . He then worked as a locksmith and machine operator from 1964 to 1980 . During this time he was also involved in trade unions , was a works council and from 1978 to 1982 chairman of the ÖGB in the former Hartberg district . Herrmann last attended the social academy of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Mödling from 1980 to 1981 .

His political career began Herrmann in 1975, when he was in the council of Lafnitz was chosen. From 1990 he was mayor of his home community.

In 1987 he moved into the Styrian Landtag as a member of his party , to which he initially belonged until the end of the legislative period in 1991. From October 1991 to January 1994 he represented Styria as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna . He was then sworn in again as a member of the Styrian state parliament in Graz . This time he was a mandate until 2000.
