Siegfried Jaschke

Siegfried Benno Jaschke (born May 25, 1939 in Bad Warmbrunn ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Thuringian state parliament from 1991 to 2009 .

Life

After his family had to leave their Silesian homeland as a result of the Second World War , Jaschke grew up in Erfurt , where he graduated from high school in 1958 . He then completed an apprenticeship as a banker in Potsdam , and then studied economics at the Humboldt University in Berlin . Jaschke completed his studies in 1964 with a diploma .

In 1989 he took part in the group of Democratic Awakening in the GDR . The Democratic Awakening joined the GDR CDU in 1990 , whereupon Jaschke also became a CDU member. In 1990 he was first elected to the Erfurt city council, then in 1991 to the Thuringian state parliament , to which he has been a member of the CDU parliamentary group ever since. His constituency was the constituency of Ilm-Kreis I ( Ilmenau and the surrounding area). In 1994 he was able to achieve a direct mandate in the state elections there with 45% of the first votes. In 1999 he achieved 54% and in 2004 again 45% of the first votes in the constituency, which was enough for a direct mandate. Most recently, he was a member of the parliament's committee for nutrition, agriculture and forestry. Siegfried Jaschke was the age president of the 4th Thuringian Landtag (2004–2009). He did not run for the 2009 state election .

Jaschke is Catholic, married and has two children.
