From the Ilm district it includes the communities Angelroda , Elgersburg , Geraberg (district of the community Geratal ), Großbreitenbach , Ilmenau , Martinroda , Neusiß (district of the city of Plaue ) and from the independent city of Suhl the district of Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig .
