Siegfried Köstler (born December 15, 1950 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

player

Siegfried Köstler played for 1. FC Paderborn until 1971 . From the 1971/72 season Köstler played at Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga . Dortmund rose three points behind Hannover 96 , who took 16th place. Köstler started with Dortmund in the second-class regional league , the re-promotion was not successful, it was fourth place. Köstler left Borussia and played for the next few years in the second division, with FC St. Pauli , 1. FSV Mainz 05 and SV Darmstadt 98 . He spent his last season as a player with TSV 1860 Munich in the Bundesliga.

Trainer

Immediately after his career as a soccer player, Köstler worked as a player-coach for the upper division club FV Ravensburg . He completed his football instructor license at the Sport University Cologne , together with Ralf Rangnick , Klaus Toppmöller and Dragoslav Stepanović . In early 1983 he was replaced by the relegation-threatened club by Michael Krause . He later lived temporarily in Brazil and worked at a football school before setting up a self-employed courier driver on his return to Düsseldorf. At the same time he is active in youth work.
