Siemtje Möller (born July 20, 1983 in Emden ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 .

Life

Möller grew up in Emden and Oldenburg. She studied French , Spanish and politics in Göttingen and was a teacher in Braunschweig , Berlin and most recently at the New Gymnasium in Wilhelmshaven .

Siemtje Möller is married and has two sons. She lives in Varel with her husband and children . Möller is a member of the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) and, as a teacher, also a member of the Education and Science Union (GEW).

politics

Möller joined the SPD in 2010. In the 2017 federal election she won the direct mandate of constituency 26 Friesland / Wilhelmshaven / Wittmund . In the 19th electoral term she is a member of the Defense and Petitions Committee in the German Bundestag . In 2019 she was sent to the committee of inquiry into the consultant affair . Together with the budget politician Dennis Rohde , she carries out the educational work for her group. In the course of the investigation committee, she worked out that the administrative investigations in the Federal Ministry of Defense regarding the consultant affair were not carried out forcefully, but were intended to ease the burden on the political leadership. As a consequence, she called for a revision of the investigation committee law as well as clearer regulations for the storage of SMS traffic.

She is one of the three speakers for the Seeheimer Kreis .
