The Sierra de Mijas is a mountain range in southern Spain, part of the mountain range that lies behind the sunny coast , north of Fuengirola and Torremolinos in Andalusia . The highest point is the summit Pico Mijas at 1150 m. Other peaks are the Pico del Puerto Málaga , the Jabalcuza and the Jarapalos .
Location and surroundings
It is located in the Betic Cordillera mountain group and is divided into two areas ( Complejo alpujárride and Complejo maláguide ). The mountain range consists mainly of marble and, to a lesser extent, limestone . It separates the Comarca Valle del Guadalhorce from the Comarca Costa del Sol Occidental .
