history

On March 1, 1890, Sigmund Fluss founded the company in Brno, line 38. Through diligence and specialist knowledge, he soon made a name for his business far beyond the scope of his place of operation.

The chemical washing, finishing and steam dyeing facility, which was equipped with patented and most modern machines at the time, could be described as a model facility. The chemical laundry, so-called dry laundry, was suitable for every type of women's and children's wardrobe. All objects, including the finest street and party toilets, silk robes or masked costumes, were cleaned unseparated with every trim, be it in silk, velvet, pearls , embroidery , gold or silver , without any damage in terms of color, shrinkage or condition.

Two steam boilers, each with a heating surface of 70 square meters, and a powerful steam engine operated the establishment, in whose bright, well-ventilated, electrically-lit rooms around 1900 around 80 to 100 people were employed.

Fluss received numerous awards for his achievements in public competitions. The company was the holder of the kk exclusive privilege . The clientele included not only the nobility and the highest social circles, but also the imperial court. For this, Sigmund Fluss was appointed supplier to the Imperial and Royal Court . Later shortly after 1900 also received the royal Romanian court title.

In the course of time, the establishment had expanded its sphere of activity beyond its original place of operation and was located around 1900 at small Sperlgasse 8 in the 2nd district of Leopoldstadt in Vienna , at Wenzelsplatz 52 in Prague , at Elisabethplatz 10 in Budapest , Graz , Trieste , Krakow , Lemberg and Czernowitz own factory failures and about 200 agencies in all major cities of Austria-Hungary.
