Sigrid Siegele
Sigrid Siegele (* December 8, 1951 in Ravensburg ; † January 23, 2017 in Darmstadt ) was a German sculptor .
Life
After training as an educator and social worker, Sigrid Siegele studied fine arts at the Kassel University from 1981 to 1986 . After studying in Nepal , India and Portugal , she became self-employed as a freelance artist . In 1993 Siegele moved to Darmstadt and served from 1999 to 2001 as a board member of the Darmstadt Secession . In 2004, her life partner died after an illness. Siegele herself died on January 23, 2017 at the age of 65, after a brief illness, because she had refused treatment.

Sigrid Siegele's sculptures are mostly made of bricks . Their forms should not achieve perfection, but contradict the norms. Her works can be found in public spaces in many German cities. In addition, her works have been exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions and exhibition participations in Germany and abroad.
