The Silberwasser , in Upper Sorbian Slěborna woda , sometimes also called Silberbach , is an approximately seven kilometers long left tributary of the Schwarzwassers in the Saxon Upper Lusatia .

course

The brook rises on the eastern slope of the Butterberg , south of the town of Schönbrunn near Bischofswerda and shortly afterwards joins the Schönbrunn water . From here it flows eastwards towards Wölkau , where another source stream flows in from the direction of Kynitzsch . In Wölkau the silver water unites with the Pohla water . It then flows, now meandering strongly, further east through Cannewitz to Spittwitz , where it flows into the Schwarzwasser, which enters the Spittwitzer Skala immediately after the mouth .

In terms of natural space, the silver water rises on the eastern edge of the West Lusatian hills and mountains , but the majority of the course of the river runs through the Upper Lusatian region .

Historical

According to the Upper Lusatian border document, the silver water has formed part of the border between the Margraviate of Meißen in the south and the Margraviate of Upper Lusatia in the north between Neu-Schönbrunn and Cannewitz since 1241 .
