action

The psychopath John Kirby kills two people with whom he sublet. Sheriff Dan Stevens and his Deputy Charlie are first on the scene. After a chase, they have to kill the superhumanly strong man with several shots. He is taken to a nearby institute, where doctors Dr. Spiers and Dr. Vaughn and John's psychiatrist Tom Halman try to save his life. Dr. Spiers urges his colleagues to use an experimental serum, against Tom's will. When he leaves the room, the two remaining doctors still give the man the serum.

Dan Stevens reunites with Tom's sister Nancy, his old childhood sweetheart. The next morning, John Kirby is still alive. Injuries now heal in seconds, but the serum has attacked his brain. He escapes from the institute and kills Tom and his wife. Stevens can barely save Nancy, but he cannot discover the attacker. He drives Nancy to the institute so that the doctors there can calm Nancy down. After talking to Dr. Spiers, who assures him that John Kirby is dead, he looks for the culprit.

Meanwhile, John Kirby comes back to the institute, kills his two doctors, and then starts murdering at random at the institute. Alarmed by the incident, Dan returns to find his partner Charlie, whom he has assigned to guard Nancy, seriously injured. He can find Kirby and saves Nancy from the psychopath. But a fall from the institute building, as well as several shots, cannot stop the man. Nancy hits him, but Kirby manages to hold on to the car. As he climbs into the moving car, Dan and Nancy jump out of the car. The car explodes, but the burning John Kirby manages to escape into the water. Finally Dan succeeds in pushing the man into a disused well shaft. When the two leave the scene, the man's head can be seen coming out of it.

Reviews

The film combines motifs from the Frankenstein story with the style elements of the action film. In general, the film didn't go down well with the critics.

“Plagiarism horror film that is awkwardly put together from set pieces from“ Frankenstein ”and“ Halloween ”. Superficial in terms of content and formally inconsistent, it does not even come close to meeting the suspense expectations of the viewer. "

"Probably the low point in Chuck Norris' career."
