Silvia Serena Tschopp
Silvia Serena Tschopp (born July 31, 1960 in Bern ) is a Swiss historian .
Life
Silvia Serena Tschopp studied German and Romance languages from 1979 to 1987 at the Universities of Bern, Munich (LMU) and Siena . After receiving his doctorate in 1990 as Dr. phil. ( LMU Munich / University of Bern ) in 1990 she was a research assistant at the Institute for German Philology at LMU Munich. From 1991 to 1998 she was a research assistant at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Bern. After completing her habilitation in 1998 at the University of Bern, she held guest lectureships at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Basel from 1999 to 2000 . Since 2000 she has been Professor of European Cultural History at the University of Augsburg .
Her main research interests are historical media research, European literature and culture of the early modern period, the history of knowledge and science, popular reading materials, historicism and literature.
