Silvino Adolfo Morais (born July 19, 1956 in Atabae , Bobonaro , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of the FRETILIN party .

Career

Morais holds a degree in economics. He previously worked for the development aid organization Esperança Timor Oan (ETO), which operates in the municipalities of Bobonaro , Ermera and Liquiçá .

In the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2012 , Morais ran for FRETILIN list position 64 without a chance. In the parliamentary elections in 2017 he was able to enter the national parliament of East Timor on list place 20. Since the minority government of FRETILIN and PD could not prevail in parliament, President Francisco Guterres dissolved it and called for new elections. In the new election on May 12, 2018, Morais was able to re-enter parliament at number 12 on the FRETILIN list, where FRETILIN is now the strongest opposition party. Morais is a member of the Parliamentary Commission on Public Finance (Commission C).
