The Hinterste Kahle Berg is a mountain in the northwestern Odenwald , approx. 3.0 km east of Darmstadt . The 197.9 m high mountain in the Darmstadt forest area is heavily forested.

To the north and east of the mountain is the Scheftheimer Wiesen nature reserve with the Ruthsenbach . To the south of the mountain is the Sulmenseekopf , to the west is the Vorderste Kahle Berg .

etymology

To Old High German calo and Middle High German kal with the meaning "bald". Bare, ungrown or cleared areas gave the name. Situation in Darmstadt: The documents with the stem vowel / o / probably show a dialectrically dulled stem vowel. They are therefore too bare and not part of coal .
