Simon Colosimo (born January 8, 1979 in Melbourne ) is an Australian football player who is active on the position of midfielder at Sydney FC in the Australian A-League .

Career

In 1997 Colosimo graduated from the Australian Institute of Sport football program and signed a contract with Charlton SC. In 2000 he moved to South Melbourne FC. In 2001 he got a contract with Manchester City in the English Premier League , but during the winter break of the season he moved to Belgium to Royal Antwerp . In the summer of 2002 he returned to Australia and played for a year with Perth Glory before joining Parramatta Power in 2003 . In 2004 Colosimo played in Malaysia for Pahang FA, in 2005 he returned to Perth Glory for three years. In 2007 he was loaned to Sivasspor in Turkey , and Colosimo has been playing for Sydney FC since summer 2008.

In 1998 he made his debut for the Australian national team , for which he has so far recorded 24 games and three goals. In 2000 and 2004 he won the OFC Nations Cup with Australia .
