Simon Epiney

Simon Epiney (born February 12, 1950 in Sierre , resident in Vissoie ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

biography

Epiney studied law and later worked as a lawyer and notary .

His political career began in the council of Vissoie , whose mayor he worked from 1980 to 1,992th From 1981 to 1993 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Valais . He was elected to the National Council on November 25, 1991, where he sat in a relatively large number of commissions. In the 1999 elections , he was elected to the Council of States . In the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2007 he did not run again, and therefore left the small chamber on December 2, 2007.

He is married with three children and lives in Sierre . He was a soldier in the Swiss Army .
