Simon Weisse
Simon Weisse (born 1962 in Berlin ) is a German prop master , set designer and model maker .
Life
Simon Weisse's father Leo Weisse worked as a still photographer in the film industry. Weisse studied at the Art School in Montpellier . He then learned the stage trade in international film productions in their workshops for model making and special effects, in 1988 he worked for Terry Gilliam's film The Adventures of Baron Münchhausen in England.
Weisse specialized in the production of props and scene pictures in miniature format. He runs his workshop in Berlin-Neukölln ; for complex productions, the workshop is temporarily transferred to the location. His first work in the Babelsberg studio in 1994 were models for the Neverending Story Part 2 and Neverending Story Part 3 .
Weisse has worked for films such as V for vendetta (2005), Speed Racer (2008), The Three Musketeers (2011) and Bridge of Spies - The Negotiator (2014). For the director Wes Anderson he built models for his films Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) and Isle of Dogs - Atari's Journey (2018).
