Simonas Gentvilas

Simonas Gentvilas (born September 28, 1984 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian liberal politician and Seimas member.

Life

His father is the politician Eugenijus Gentvilas .

From 2001 to 2004 Simonas Gentvilas graduated from high school in Karlskron (Sweden) according to the school exchange program. He then studied at universities in Sweden, Norway , Denmark, Belgium , Austria and Spain . From 2005 to 2007 he completed a bachelor's degree in sociology and from 2008 to 2010 a master's degree in urban development at the University of Oslo . From 2015 to 2016 he studied management at the Institute of Sweden. In Malmö he established the Lithuanian People's Congregation and Lithuanian youth organizations. In 2010 he co-founded the “Urbanofilai” movement in Klaipėda and the “Lietuvos humanistai” association. In 2013 the entrepreneurial community “Mazgas” organized in Klaipėda. In 2015, he and his neighbors established the Klaipėda Residential Community .

From 2013 Gentvilas headed the Klaipėda department of Lietuvos Respublikos liberalų sąjūdis (LRLS). Since autumn 2015 he has been the deputy chairwoman of LRLS. From 2011 he was advisor to the mayor Vytautas Grubliauskas of the municipality of Klaipėda .

From 2014 he headed the association “Klaipėdos regionas” as director. From 2015 to November 2016 he was a member and leader of the liberal faction in the Klaipėda City Council. In 2015 he and his partners set up the IT programming school for adults.

On 23 October 2016 he became the Seimas as LRLS -Kandidat chosen .

Gentvilas speaks five foreign languages.

He is married. With his wife Šarūnė he has the son Ugnius (* 2015) and the daughter Guoba (* 2016).
