Simone Heinemann-Meerz

Simone Heinemann-Meerz (born September 13, 1960 in Sangerhausen ) is a German doctor and professional politician, President of the State Medical Association of Saxony-Anhalt .

Career

From 1980 to 1986 Heinemann-Meerz studied medicine at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU). In 1984 she obtained a diploma at the Pharmacological Institute of the MLU with her thesis “The influence of the linoleic acid content of food on the cardiovascular effects of dihydralazine and clonidine in the anesthetized rat”. In 1986 she passed the state examination. In 1991, she completed her dissertation at the Pharmacological Institute of the MLU “Animal experiments on the influence of Trapidil, AR 12463 and HDL on blood pressure and prostanoid synthesis”.

In 1991 she became a specialist in internal medicine at the University Hospital Halle (UKH) of the MLU, from 1993 with the sub-specialization cardiology and from 2010 with the additional designation cardio- MRI . She has been working as a resident cardiologist in Halle (Saale) since 1994.

She is married and has a son.

Functions (selection)

Heinemann-Meerz has been a member of the chamber assembly of the Saxony-Anhalt Medical Association since 1995 and a board member of the Saxony-Anhalt Medical Association since 1999. From 2007 to 2011 she was Vice President of the Medical Association of Saxony-Anhalt, since July 1, 2011 she has been its President. She is also editor-in-chief of the Ärzteblatt Sachsen-Anhalt.

From 1999 to 2005 she was the second national chairwoman of the Federal Association of Resident Cardiologists (BNK) and a founding member of the BNK's strategy commission. Heinemann-Meerz is also a member of the scientific advisory board of the German Heart Foundation .
