Simone Schelberg , b. Sanftenberg (born June 24, 1969 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German lawyer specializing in media law . Since 2007 she has been a regional broadcasting director for programs in the Southwest Broadcasting (SWR) Rheinland-Pfalz responsible.

Life

Schelberg studied law and received his doctorate in 1997 from the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . She settled down as a lawyer. From 1999 she was head of the staff unit in the program department of international television at Deutsche Welle and then television assistant to the artistic director. In March 2002 she came to SWR as head of the main television department “Country and People” and in June 2007 became the state broadcaster in Rhineland-Palatinate at the suggestion of artistic director Peter Voss . On November 18, 2011, Sanftenberg was confirmed in office by the Broadcasting Council for another five years (from June 1, 2012).

Since 2008 she has been on the board of trustees of the University of Mainz . She is chairwoman of the Mainz Media Industry Advisory Board , an initiative of business, broadcasters, science and politics.

In her welcoming address to the 17th MainzerMedienDisput , she said about the journalistic profession :

"It is crucial that the journalist's inner attitude wants quality and that his employer has his back."
