The Simonovbreen ( Norwegian ) is a 7 km long glacier in the northeast of the West Antarctic Peter I Island . It lies between the Ranvika in the south and the Kvalvika in the north. It separates the Mirny coast from the Von Bellingshausen coast .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named him after Iwan Michailowitsch Simonow (1794–1855), astronomer on the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819–1821) under the direction of Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen , the discoverer of Peter I Island.
